2016: WHAT IS IT GOING TO BRING?

On Monday 11th, we went back to work after three pleasant relaxing weeks of holidays, spent partly travelling, partly in a cosy Christmas environment at home with our families. For each of us, this time meant something different: there was whom felt nostalgia of Arad, and who would have missed the flight back to Romania.

Yet, and despite our very sleepy expressions, we started again with the first Life Plus meeting of the new year, to make the point of the situation, of past achievements and future plans. The luckiest news for the readers and the kids in our project is about the service’s extension of two of our team members, Eva and Laura, who will keep high the honour of Life Plus in Arad for a few months longer while enjoying the spring in this city, which every EVS witness reports to be amazing.

Proud of last year accomplishments (among them, we remember the Intercultural Evening, the Christmas Event with the kids at Atrium Mall and the Christmas Carolling at the elderly centre, activities in Vladimirescu village), we will try to make good use of these last two months we will have all together as a team to leave a nice memory of our project.

Beside the routine activities we keep implementing weekly (educational leisure time with children and teenagers in the hospital’s ludoteca and in after-school contexts, giving English and Spanish Classes in secondary schools, working as support in centres such as Integra and Partier), we are now preparing our next campaign, basic First Aid classes to be carried out in middle schools, taking advantage of the First Aid training we had last November at the Red Cross, and working on the development of other ideas for February.

Hoping 2016 will be benevolent with everyone, we will try our best to make it better for our beneficiaries. Happy new year!
